But what do we do if it rains?

man runs in the pouring rain with loads of umbrellas

this might be

the number one question i am asked

This is everyone in Irelands worst fear about their wedding day…the weather…its the one thing we cannot control and the one thing we feel could ruin everything….whether you are planning a summer bbq marquee wedding in July…or an estate wedding in the height of winter…we cannot and will not know if Mr sun will shine.

But….what we do know is this…I…LOVE…THE…RAIN….

Where you might be worried about it…I WELCOME IT…gimme glossy post shower leaves and light peering from behind a storm cloud…

bridesmaids sheild themselves from the rain with their bouquets

GimME Bridal parties who will brave it

and take every unpredictable moment in their stride

Gimme steamy car windows

and dresses thrown over your arm as you dander

Its all about putting your trust in your photographer, believing it will be worth it and at times braving the elements a little bit to get those real moments, showing the real feeling of your wedding day

So really my advice, if it rains on your wedding day, head out between showers thats where the magic light is.

Change your timeline…do you portraits after your dinner….nip out for 15 minutes while they are serving coffee…be willing to loose the last bite of your sticky toffee pudding for some incredible memories…

Do You Travel throughout ireland?

couple at the side of classic car

yes i absolutely flipping do

Last year, for weddings, I travelled

husband and wife in classic car, driving to reception after ceremony, his hand on the steering wheel

3490 miles

yeah I counted

And don’t i wish it was in an MG convertible???? No, no i don’t actually..i would probably still be on the road…

Anyway…

This year has been a treat, I have travelled all over the island of Ireland

My first visit to the gorgeous Kilshane House

Drenagh Estate

Iv dreamed of shooting in these gardens for years, they really showed off this day

couple walk hand in hand with markee castle as backdrop

Markree Castle

Another incredible venue on the west coast of Ireland

so really there are no limits to where I can travel, in fact i get such a buzz shooting in a new venue, figuring where the light will fall, which spots will work best for portraits, so much fun.

So tell me….where are you getting married?

What if you hate posing?

mon til i tell ya

So do I

There must be a whole loada wedding photographers out there, making people cringe while snogging non stop for two hours, because 99% of people say to me “I dont want to be away from my guests for hours taking pictures”

I will never do this.

I honestly pride myself on keeping this process as fun (and quick) as possible…giving you time to belly laugh with auntie pat and drink that fizz you spent months saving for.

Just think about it as

a Dander

A chance for the two of you to get some time to catch up and breathe.

Its one thing not to worry about, but the one that EVERYONE does.

IN NO TIME

You’ll be having such a lovely time really seeing each other, that all the worries will melt away

do you take posed family pictures?

family stand outside kilshane house for a group photograph

Takes thirty minutes

Gives you a slice of history your mammy will definitely definitely frame

I know you've come here for natural, relaxed images of your wedding day, but, and its a massive but, this will should still happen too….it wont take over, we will spend time during your consultation planning the best time to get these images…to allow for all the natural & relaxed images too.

you wont get one without the other

gathering guests for formal pictures gives way to to those unposed treasures

so dont be afraid of a line up…give your mammy what she wants

I have no doubt

that one day, you will want it too.
