We have had an epic one, both Pete and I were married in July and all these fabulous folks joined the club too.
There was rain, there was sun, there were tears, there were laughs. But most of all there was love. Love from families, love from friends, love between couples...not gonna lie...getting married is epic, but shooting weddings, thats something else.
We are so privileged to get to share all of these great moments with these incredible people. And the best thing, we get to do it all over again with another bunch this year...yes! Lets do this 2018 couples!
We had such a blast shooting Susan & Robs day, the morning was super chilled with lots of great coffee, great tunes and a bit of warm up dancing.
Pete navigated his way around the rented house where Robs family were staying, rucksacks and suitcases housing the great traditional Scottish attire donned by the lads. A quick walk to the church for the ceremony, then a dander down to Deanes, stopping along the way for some portraits...pure chilled beautness.
Lots of Guinness and some hilarious speeches later, the dancefloor filled quicker than i have EVER seen, so what could we do but join in? Such a fun day with great people...
Emma & Barrys big day in Bellingham castle was pure class. Emma & her bridal party got ready in the incredible Bellingham Estate, a beautiful house right next to the castle with fabulous hosts.
You could tell Emma had thought about every little detail of the day, but what was really apparent to me from the outset, was that Emma & Barry wanted everyone to have the best time...These two have the BIGGEST hearts, full of generosity for those special in their life and beyond...
This is an incredibly elegant affair yet very relaxed, just love family & friends....what more could you ask for....oh...well...a beautiful sunset and they got that too...enjoy...
Rachel & Damian, two absolute cool cats from lovely Downpatrick. Rachel and Damian really didn't want to pose for anything, they wanted us to capture their day naturally, but when the sun was setting over our beautiful city, we hiked up the stairs for a few couple shots and boy was it worth it...
This couple were full of fun and i think it shines through. Just a couple of best friends getting hitched, throw in some great style, a few hilarious speeches and a top notch first dance and you are on to a win!
What can I say about these two absolute dotes? Megan & Aaron are the type of couple who have love shining out of their eyes...you know the type... always giving each other little glances across the room.
We got to know these two so well in the lead up to their big day, and with Megans background in events, every little detail was planned to perfection and with complete ease.
I look back so fondly on the craic with the girls in the room in the morning and the wandering around queens with these Megan & Aaron to take some stunning portraits.
These two had their guests enjoyment at the centre of their big day and what a party it was...oh yeah and that dress...hello Megan! Such a joy to relive this day putting this blog together...enjoy everyone.
You'll have to forgive me if iv gone a little over board with this one, but this is Pete, one half of Laura J Curran, so you'll understand if I pure spam your faces off with their wedding day magic.
We had been having quite a nice early summer, then the rain started and didn't really stop for a few weeks. Pete and Rachel wanted a big summer wedding party at Rachels parents farmhouse, so when they were hanging paper lanterns with the rain beating off the marquee and putting lights on the trees in huge raincoats, there dream seemed slightly out of reach. But they were in luck, the day came and sun did too...in spades!
They spent their day outside sipping champs, playing beer pong and enjoying Rachels parents incredible garden. When it was time to eat, summer bbq food in the marquee with all the doors open to let the breeze rip through...
This really was a family affair, with all lending a hand to create a beautiful, colourful DIY wedding day. The flowers were created by Rachels mum Joanne of Grey Barn Floral, Petes mum Annette made the incredible wedding cake. And with every aunt, cousin, brother, sister playing a part in the decorating, you could tell everyone felt part of something.
We danced the night away (yes me too) into the wee hours filled with love, laughter and with a few beads of sweat on our brows...pure magic...
When I think back to Lucy & Michaels spring wedding day, it was bright and breezy but still cool. We ventured to malt mills, under trees and walked the coast. Lucy & Michael trusted our judgement as photographers completely and boy did it pay off... Take a look at this beautiful, gentle warm couple celebrate their love with their closest family and friends...pure orange tree magic...
Steph & Stevies big day was at the tail end of our short summer heat wave. They celebrated with an outdoor ceremony and reception at the amazing Tullveery House. There were bottles popping, belly laughs, hugs and tears from the start to finish. Pete and I felt so at home with this crazy crew, it was such a privilege to document their absolute party of a wedding...and Stephs gown...wow...no words...check it out...
We met Holly & David about a year ago now and quickly developed a great relationship with them, so we were really looking forward to their big day on St Patricks Day.
Their ceremony was in the beautiful parish in Drumbo, then a swift jaunt down to the opulent Cabra castle in Cavan.
The weather did not dampen anyone's spirits on a day filled with entertainment from start to finish. The love from their family and friends filled this grand venue with words, laughter, hugs, kisses, dancing and joy...and we hear the after party was fabulous as well.
